ProteMacMac Glossary

Identification– process of recognizing someone or something to get rights or an access to some special resources.

Identity theft - the fraudulent appropriation and use of another person's personal information.

Insert - to put or place in (e.g. LogonKey enables auto-unlock of your Mac by inserting a USB Key).

Install - to ‘install the application’ means to put it on a system of computer by special operation system program or the installer that is the part of the software. The installation enables using of the application. 

Interface – computer hardware or software designed to communicate information between hardware devices, between software programs, between devices and programs, or between a computer and a user. (e.g. ProteMac Meter has easy-to-use user interface that displays all necessary data in one window).

Internet – is a global system of interconnected networks which gives you ability to get an access to information, chat with somebody, work or just have fun.(ProteMac Meter is capable of diagnosing network and Internet connections and speeds). 

Internet page – document or the information resource on Internet represented as a rule in HTML format. Internet page may contain text, scripts, hypertext links, media files and etc.

Interval– a definite length of time marked off by two instants.

IP address – An Internet Protocol address–is a numerical label assigned to each device participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. An IP address serves two principal functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing.

IPad – is a line of tablet computers designed, developed and marketed by Apple Inc.  

IPhone – is a line of Internet- and multimedia-enabled smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. 

IPod Touch – is a portable media player, personal digital assistant, Handheld game console, and Wi-Fi mobile platform designed and marketed by Apple Inc.

ISight – it was a webcam, both external and internal, developed and marketed by Apple Inc. Since November 2010 Apple began calling them “FaceTime Cameras”
